Your Day in Venice Beach

Can’t afford a flight to Venice, Italy? Check out Venice’s hip twin sibling of a city: Venice Beach, CA. This neighborhood of Los Angeles is on the rise for its unique arts and culture. With funky murals, street style, and famous beaches – we’re humbled to be a part of such a budding creative scene. The following are insider tips on our favorite local spots for your day spent in Venice Beach:

Start: Shop along Abbot Kinney at ...

Tumbleweed and Dandelion

Oh, how we love this sweet boutique! Not only because they sell our Jenna Bee bags, but also because of their envious collection of vintage finds. This beach bungalow turned store, sells only handmade goods; so it is extra-gratifying to support fellow makers at their shop.

Next: Grab lunch at ...

The Butcher’s Daughter

We would love to be the butcher’s daughter if it meant we got to eat like this everyday! This vegetarian and wellness-minded restaurant has made the transition from NYC to Abbot Kinney, and we are in love with this addition to the neighborhood. Not only is the food amazing, but so is the interior design. With flora covering the walls and vintage decor pieces throughout, the beautiful atmosphere makes the enjoyment of gathering for a meal with friends that much more special.

Then: Spend the afternoon looking at ...

Street Art

Taking in the street art of Venice Beach is like being immersed in a modern-day Renaissance. Reflective of modern culture, the muralists of Venice create vibrant works of art throughout the city. Named the ‘mural capital of the world’, check out this map for a self-guided tour of the art:

After: Take a break for dessert at ...

Salt & Straw

You will melt after treating yourself to a cone at Salt & Straw. Seriously. We’ve never had better ice cream, like ever. Originating from Portland, these sweet treats are made fresh from “farm to cone”. After a hot summer day at the beach in Venice, there is nothing more refreshing than a scoop of Honey Lavender ice cream.

Finish: Catch the sunset at the ...

Venice Beach Boardwalk

A classic staple of Venice Beach, the boardwalk is host to outrageous street performers and artists from around the globe. From the iconic muscle beach gym to the world-class skate park, the boardwalk is always action-packed. We could easily spend the day entranced by the local art and people-watching.
